How to Replace a New Jersey Boating Safety Certificate
As hosts of the New Jersey Boating Safety Certificate Course, with classes on Lake Hopatcong and Highlands, NJ, we often are asked, “I lost my New Jersey Boating Certificate, how can I get a replacement?” In this post, we’ll show you how to easily replace your lost NJ Boating Certificate.
In this video, Ray Fernandez of Bridge Marina explains how to replace a lost NJ Boating Safety Certificate.
Make a Request to Replace a NJ Boating Safety Certificate
If you’ve lost or misplaced your Boating Safety Certificate and previously took the safety course with the State of New Jersey, you don’t need to retake the course, as you cannot be re-issued a certificate by retaking the course. Instead, you need to contact the State of New Jersey directly by email or mail. The easiest way to get a replacement is to request one from the Marine Services Bureau using the instructions below.
Simply email the Marine Services Bureau at [email protected] and provide the following information:
- Full Legal Name
- Date of Birth
- Complete Current Address (and any prior address your certificate may be under)
- Copy of Driver’s License or State I.D. (any scanned copies or photos must be in .jpg format)
- Phone Number
- Email Address
- Reason for the Request
Please note that all requests for a replacement NJ boating license must be emailed or sent through the United States Postal Service.
