Triple Pontoons vs. Two and Three-Quarter Toons: What Are the Differences and Benefits?
When it comes to pontoon boats, there are a variety of styles to choose from to customize your boating experience. Two options are triple pontoons and two and three-quarter pontoons.
Triple Pontoons
A triple pontoon, or tritoon, is a pontoon boat with three tubes as opposed to the traditional twin tubes. There are many benefits of having a triple pontoon rather than a pontoon such as increased stability, a higher maximum capacity, and more! The triple pontoon is a great choice for boaters interested in watersports, higher engine performance, and hosting larger groups.
See our video below for more details on triple pontoons.
Two and Three-Quarter Toons
Contrary to triple pontoons, two and three-quarter toons, or sport pontoons, can be identified by the shorter three-quarter-lengthed tube down the center of the boat. The three-quarter tube allows for better fuel efficiency, responsive maneuvering, and more. Plus, they are generally less wide, making them easier to dock than a triple pontoon. The two and three-quarter toon would make a good match with a boater looking for days of cruising on the lake, leisurely activities such as fishing and swimming, and a more cost-effective pontoon option than a triple pontoon.
See our video below providing an overview and explanation on two and three-quarter toons.
