How The Exam-Only Option Works

Step 1:

Complete your New Jersey-approved boating safety course online through a state-approved provider: Boat-Ed.com. Once finished, print your online course completion certificate. You’ll need this document to be admitted to the in-person exam.

Step 2:

Register for your in-person boating safety exam using the calendar below. You must bring your printed completion certificate from Boat-Ed to take the exam.

IMPORTANT: Students without a valid printed completion certificate will not be permitted to take the exam.
