Bridge Marina's Jeffrey Carey Earns ABYC Certification

March 18, 2016

Lake Hopatcong, N.J.:  Bridge Marina, Inc. is pleased to announce that Jeffrey Carey recently completed American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) Certification. For over 60 years, ABYC has developed the safety standards for the design, construction, maintenance and repair of recreational boats.

ABYC’s technician certification courses are instrumental in increasing the level of knowledge and professionalism throughout the boating industry. Having completed the training, testing and certification process, Carey is now one of a growing group of certified specialists in the country whose commitment to excellence means better customer service for the recreational boater.

“At Bridge Marina, we believe that enrolling our marine technicians in ABYC’s training programs will help increase the quality of our customer’s boating experience,” said Ray Fernandez, president of Bridge Marina.  “But, what it really takes is the commitment of our employees to be able to advance their own knowledge by attending the ABYC program.  We’re proud of Jeff and what this means for Bridge Marina.”

“What we offer is a comprehensive course of study and a challenging certification test,” said Ed Sherman, ABYC vice president and education director. “Technicians like Jeffrey who have achieved ABYC Certification have demonstrated not only their understanding of applicable ABYC Standards, but their ability to troubleshoot and facilitate first quality repairs on your boat.

Carey has been working as a Lead Technician with Bridge Marina for over five years.  He currently resides in the area with his wife and two daughters.
